Hi, I'm Telemachus!

My name is Telemahcus! I’m new to blogging, so I will start by telling you a little bit about my crazy family and myself. My childhood was not the ideal start for any child because when I was very young my father, the great Odysseus, left our family to go fight in the Trojan War. The war lasted for years, and my worst fear was that I would never see my father again. So I waited and dreamed of the day I would see him walk through our palace doors gleaming with victory and shining with the many gold and silver he would obtain along the way. But this dream is turning into a nightmare, I have not seen my father since he left for Troy and many say that he is indeed dead. However I do not believe this is true. I know he is alive and I can feel him wherever I go. Whenever I hear some say he’s dead or he is never coming back, this gives me every more motivation and hope that I will see him again. But that’s enough about my father for now; I live in a small village called Ithaca. I have lived in Ithaca for all my life! I live along with my mother Penelope. My mother is a beautiful woman and I can tell that my father leaving has affected her as well. Just as I do, my mother stays up weeping all morning and all night waiting for the day her great and noble husband, Odysseus, will come back into her life so that we may have a family once again. Since my father left for Troy, my mother has been taking care of me, along with our maids and servants. The cooking, the cleaning, the washing, everything! She does everything in her power to keep what’s left of our family together. However my mother’s primary goal is to keep the both of us safe, but it seems like the entire world is working against us. Everywhere we turn there is something going on that puts us one step back and gives us one more thing to worry about.
Ever since the war ended, my father has not returned, so many suitors from everywhere have come to my house trying to marry my mother. I am very proud that my mother holds them off because this also shows her hope and more importantly her faithfulness to her husband. The suitors have become a main problem for me because day and night I have to put up with them fighting over who would end up marring my mother, but what they do not know is that my mother has a plan. Ever since the suitors started coming to our door, she told them that she was making a garment and that when she was finished knitting that garment she would tell them who she would marry. However, every night when she would finish making the garment, she would unwrap it and start over. This plan has been working so far, but I don’t know how long it’s going to take until the suitors catch on.
